America may be being dragged down by record debt and unemployment filtering throughout the economy – but there’s one industry that’s bucking the trend. It’s a boom time for arms manufacturers right now, and they’re branding themselves as saviours of the job market. RT’s Kaelyn Forde reports on how Americans have little choice but to go gunning for work.

ICE Seizes More Domains Today, Admin Says “We’ll Be Back”

Internet Censorship

Censorship in the U.S.

Yesterday and without warning, US authorities resumed “Operation In Our Sites” seizing several domain names associated with copyright infringement and counterfeiting. Today, yet more domains were added to the growing list. TorrentFreak caught up with one site owner who told us that while they were taken by surprise by a “pointless” seizure, they’ll soon be back.
As indicated in our exclusive report yesterday, the Department of Justice (DOJ) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) have resumed “Operation In Our Sites”, the domain name seizing initiative designed to crack down on copyright infringement.

Following on from the most recent set of seizures in February, yesterday’s action represents the fourth phase of the operation. The following six domains were taken:

Got Debt? Get Equifax Debt Wise.

* Re1ease.net
* Watchnewfilms.com
* Dvdcollectionsale.com
* Dvdscollection.com
* Dvdsetsonline.com
* Newstylerolex.com

Get Equifax DebtWise Now!

Today the list has grown again to include the following:

* mygolfaccessory.com
* overbestmall.com

TorrentFreak managed to catch up with PiraCee, an admin at Re1ease.net, a portal that did not host any copyrighted material itself but linked to movie and TV shows on sites like Megavideo.com.

“We were not informed [that the seizure was imminent] in any way,” he told us. “I was just presented with the ICE image upon doing a page refresh.”

For those unfamiliar with the site, Re1ease.net was founded following PiraCee’s split with Ninjavideo.net in late 2008. NinjaVideo, readers will recall, succumbed to ICE raids in 2010 and never recovered.

Save up to 90% Now on Go Daddy SSL Certificates!

While undoubtedly quite busy with around 10,000 visitors a day, Re1ease.net was not one the largest sites of its type on the Internet. Indeed, others with significantly higher levels of traffic remain intact, untouched by ICE.

“I don’t believe we were doing anything wrong at all. Many higher profile sites remain unaffected,” PiraCee told us.

So why was Re1ease singled out? Despite being operated from outside the United States, did they have a bad attitude to DMCA takedowns perhaps?

“We have only ever had two DMCA takedown requests – for Source Code and Hobo With a Shotgun,” PiraCee told us. “We removed both.”

But despite losing their domain, a body-blow event for any site, Re1ease.net aren’t giving in.

“We will be back,” said PiraCee, as the site mulled over a possible domain change this morning. “Give us about a week.”

That was a few hours ago though, and things move very quickly in this game.

“Scrrls.net will be our new domain and will be up and running soon as we fix our backend,” PiraCee assured us. Indeed, it appears to be fully functioning now.

TorrentFreak continues to monitor developments in phase 4 of Operation in Our Sites and if any additional domains are seized we will update this report.

Moves to place restrictions and controls on the internet by Western governments are gathering pace, with the US setting the standard as the Department of Homeland Security seized yet more domain names over the weekend and shut down several websites under the guise of piracy and copyright regulations.

Flightnetwork.com -Specializing in Cheap Flights

The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee held a hearing Monday to debate the Obama administration’s proposed move to provide the president with the authority to completely shut down the internet during a national emergency.
As we have documented, the administration’s vision provides the President the power to shut down the Internet with a figurative flick of a switch, and has made it clear that his Protecting Cyberspace as a National Asset Act is about big government deciding who can say what on the web.
Critics in the Senate, including Maine Republican Susan Collins, argued that the government is taking advantage of “outmoded yet potentially sweeping authorities granted in the Communications Act of 1934″ that allow for the president to take over radio stations in a time of national emergency.
The administration is seeking to extend those powers to online communications.
Long term internet censorship proponent, Joe Lieberman argued that “The country would be better off if we did create some new law regarding the authority of the president to act in these emergencies,”
Last year, Lieberman’s Senate Homeland Security Committee pressured Amazon to axe Wikileaks from its servers. At the time, the Senator stated that the “Decision to cut off Wikileaks now is the right decision and should set the standard for other companies Wikileaks is using to distribute its illegally seized material.”
Electronic Frontier Foundation senior staff attorney Kevin Bankston labeled Amazon’s decision to kill the website “disappointing,” adding that “pressure” from Lieberman’s office or any other authority serves to “limit the materials the American public has a First Amendment right to access.”
Lieberman’s vision for the Internet is less of an information superhighway and more of a government-controlled sanitized clone of cable television, where the web is purged entirely of dissent in a system even more draconian than that employed by the Communist Chinese.
“Right now China, the government, can disconnect parts of its Internet in case of war and we need to have that here too,” Lieberman told CNN’s Candy Crowley in 2010.
This is what Lieberman envisions for the future of the Internet in the United States, a highly regulated, state-controlled forum where the government can shut down websites it disapproves of on a whim, as is already being done by Homeland Security without court order, as yet more cases have proven this week.
Meanwhile, in Europe, the vehemently unpopular French President Nicolas Sarkozy has convened a global conference to push the idea that governments should have supreme authority over the internet.
The gathering, dubbed the e-G8, is taking place this week in Paris. Guests include Google executive chairman Eric Schmidt, News Corp. Chairman and CEO Rupert Murdoch, and Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
“You need to hear our limits, our red lines.” Sarkozy told the gathering today as he argued for enforced government rules to ” prevent misuse of the Internet”.
Included in that definition, according to Sarkozy are websites such as Wikileaks. Referring to the whistle blowing website, Sarkozy warned the gathering:

Professional Hosting from Just Host

“Do not let [the internet] become an instrument in the hands of those who want to damage our security, and so our integrity. Do not let the revolution that you have launched harm the basic right each person has to a private life,” he said.
France was one of the first countries to crack down on the servers on its territory that enabled WikiLeaks to publish vast amounts of material last year.
In 2009 the Sarkozy government attempted to pass draconian copyright laws to restrict the internet. The law, known by the acronym Hadopi, set up a new state agency with the power to cut off internet access for up to a year for people who download music and film illegally.
The French Constitutional court ruled against the powers however, defining “free access to public communication services on line” as a fundamental human right. The government is still pushing the proposed law, however. Currently only judges have the authority to restrict internet access. The same law was instituted in Britain in 2010.
Sarkozy’s government also operates an internet black list, that targets any website that is reported as “offensive”. Similar policies are now being employed by supposedly democratic governments around the world.
The push to restrict and control the internet, as we have repeatedly warned for years, is being pursued by an establishment petrified at the fact that alternative and independent sources of information are now eclipsing corporate and government controlled media outlets in terms of audience share, trust, and influence.
The move needs to be met with fierce opposition at every level and from across the political spectrum. Regulation of the Internet would not only represent a massive assault on free speech, it would also create new roadblocks for e-commerce and as a consequence further devastate the economy.

White House Hires ‘Terminator’ To ‘Squash Negative Stories’ About Obama

Obama Media Meeting

In a bid to ‘squash negative stories’ about Barack Obama that appear on the Internet, the White House has hired a dedicated propagandist whose role will be to savage people who tell “lies” about the President, in a chilling reminder of how prosecutors threatened people with jail time during the 2008 campaign if they criticized Obama.
“The Obama administration has created and staffed a new position tucked inside their communications shop for helping coordinate rapid response to unfavorable stories and fostering and improving relations with the progressive online community,” reports the Huffington Post.

Adobe UK - Special Offers

The man tasked with the role of “disseminating push back” against Obama’s online critics by direct order of the White House will be Jesse Lee, a blogger who has previously put out White House spin in response to claims made by Glenn Beck.
“The post is a new one for this White House. Rapid response has been the purview of the Democratic National Committee (and will continue to be). Lee’s hire, however, suggests that a portion of it will now be handled from within the administration. It also signals that the White House will be adopting a more aggressive engagement in the online world in the months ahead.”
Lee’s first Tweet as an official mouthpiece for White House propaganda and the Obama administration’s move to launch an “aggressive defense of the president and his policies” gives us some indication of what we can expect – the post includes a picture of the Terminator robot.

“If you’re going to post something online about Obama that isn’t true, Lee is going to be the one to handle you,” reports Chris O’Shea, noting that the move is about “squashing any negative stories” that could derail Obama’s re-election bid.
Lee obviously sees himself taking the role of ‘Terminator’ in destroying ‘conspiracies’ and ‘disinformation’ about the Obama 2012 campaign, similar to how Obama-supporting prosecutors and sheriffs in Missouri threatened people with jail time for telling “lies” about Obama during the 2008 campaign. News agencies in Pennsylvania and Ohio were also sent threatening letters demanding they stop airing ads exposing Obama’s anti-gun stance.
This has nothing to do with circulating “lies” about Obama, this is about intimidating, silencing and smearing anyone who dares tell the truth about Obama’s record or his highly dubious personal history.
As we documented in 2008, the Obama campaign’s effort to target “lies” about the president’s record was actually a transparent bid to keep his extreme anti-second amendment record under the radar as the election neared.
Not only was he on record as opposing handgun rights in Washington DC, Obama served on the board of the Joyce Foundation, probably the largest private funder of anti-gun and pro-ban groups and research in the country. In addition, Obama voted for a bill that would “expand the definition of armor piercing ammunition” and “support[ed] banning the sale of ammunition for assault weapons,” including 223 and .308 caliber bullets, the most common rifle ammunition. He supported the Illinois Firearms Owners Identification (FOID) Card, mandatory for residents when they buy any firearm in the state.
Obama’s record was clearly anti-second amendment to the hilt, but to communicate this fact to the public was characterized as “lying about the campaign” by Obama’s enforcers, and was met with threats and intimidation.
Expect the same thing to happen for 2012 – verifiable facts about Obama’s voting record and his stance on key issues, as well as documented examples of his deception on a myriad of different topics, will be targeted for ‘termination’ by Obama’s team of online attack dogs led by Jesse Lee.
And all this from the same administration that wants to give Obama a figurative ‘kill switch’ for the Internet that would hand the President Communist Chinese-style powers to shut down parts of the Internet for “security reasons,” in other words to silence and censor legitimate political opposition to Obama’s big government agenda.

Of course, this is all straight out of Cass Sunstein’s blueprint for hijacking and censoring the Internet by government regulation. Sunstein, Obama’s White House information czar, wrote a series of papers before the 2008 election in which he advocated banning or taxing “conspiracy theories,” including skepticism about man-made global warming, in addition tomandating by law that websites link to opposing information or that pop ups containing government propaganda be forcibly included on political blogs.
Obama supporter Bill Clinton, not known for his honesty, also recently advocated the creation of an Internet ministry of truth to address “misinformation and rumors floating on the Internet.”

The War on Ron Paul

Whether the media establishments want to admit it or not, and believe me they don’t, Ron Paul IS the ‘front runner’ for the republican primary. Despite voracious denials and vitriolic arguments from almost every quarter to the contrary, he is the only one with a chance of shutting out Obama for the presidency in 2012. He appeals to all sides of the aisle, and is attracting the much sought after independent swing vote almost as fast as he has the youth of the nation. The Internet is indisputably Ron Paul country as countless polls and google trends have repeatedly shown. The gradual change in political rhetoric flowing out of Washington, D.C. over the last 3 years reflects an explosion of interest in the freedom message he spreads so tirelessly. The continuous growth in popularity of talk and news shows focusing on freedom and the Constitution broadcasts loud and clear the rising prominence of issues he has brought to the debate. For anyone with any powers of discernment, it’s a no-brainer.

Ron Paul

So why do media pundits, dime a dozen politicians, and innumerable experts of self-aggrandized consequence spend great swathes of time, effort, and someone’s money working so hard to convince the people otherwise? You can’t turn on a TV, pick up a paper or surf the Internet without encountering the words “He can’t win,” or some other lame variation repeated ad nauseam with great gusto. According to all the most acclaimed talking heads, that mythical beast “The Front Runner” has yet to be seen on the horizon and is still to arise from some unknown lair, “blazing a new trail” of GOP fame and success across political skies sometime in the not too distant future. Their blind adherence to this tired refrain boggles the mind. Personally, I can find only one reason for the constant repudiation…fear. Fear of the known…Ron Paul, and fear of the unknown…future largess. The status-quo is cornered and its biggest backers are flailing in desperation through media and political mouthpieces.

eVoice 30-Day Free Trial

With decades of consistency on record as proof, it is well known by all in Washington that Ron Paul will not compromise his principles for money, power or personal gain. Ron Paul is simply…not for sale. Lobbyists for special interests have never been able to rent his vote. This is such an undisputed reality that they don’t even darken the door of his congressional office. His opinion can not be leased by the highest bidder, nor his silence ensured through threats and coercion. He is a man who stands his ground, refusing to back down, flip-flop, or play the political game of corporate footsie that entangles so many on the Hill. This is the kind of strength America not just needs, but deep down hungers for in a president. America does not need a president with the strength to circumvent law by executive order, ignore Congress and engage in needless conflicts, or break international and common law to achieve a victory. Those who stand to lose the most under a president who would not compromise the peoples’ liberties, the Constitution or the rule of law for any reason are deathly afraid of Ron Paul.

If we apply Donald Rumsfeld’s ludicrous scale of measurement, in use long before he popularized the phrase during his tenure as Secretary of Defense, then Ron Paul could aptly be termed a “known, known”. Needless to say, much heated discussion has probably occurred in many a smoky back room about this unpleasant reality. Logic tells us that a good number of those rooms might even be located in the Pentagon. Ron Paul has never made a secret of the fact that he would like to: reduce military spending to that needed for defense only; bring the troops home from all foreign bases; and restore foreign affairs to a non-interventionist policy more befitting a Republic that purports to be the shining example of liberty. Accomplishing these goals would of course mean a vast reduction in the present size and budget of the military industrial complex and can be only a cause for apprehension in those quarters. If recent world events are any indication, the threat must be great indeed. In an unprecedented flurry of efficiency the military, under direction of Commander in Chief Obama, has recently not only rescued another country from tyrannical oppression, but tracked down and killed the world’s worst terrorist, Osama Binladen, thus proving its undoubted worth and necessity. Unfortunately, the tyrant really isn’t gone yet and no one can figure out exactly what happened with the bin laden operation. Nevertheless, we’ve been assured of the worthiness of our current pedal-to-the-metal monetary support for the military industrial complex. If we haven’t then we’re obviously unpatriotic and borderline terrorists ourselves.

Unlimited US, Canada, Australia, Europe calls!

Of course no one would actually dare accuse Ron Paul of being unpatriotic. They’d be laughed right off the media stage, no matter how lofty their perch. So the approach is made from a different angle. That of foreign aid. Dr. Paul has clearly stated on numerous occasions that he would cut foreign aid to all countries, not only because of our fiscal situation but also because he believes we should respect the sovereignty of all nations and not try to dictate their policies through bribes or bombs. Cutting foreign aid in and of itself does not seem to be a problem. Polls reflect that a majority of Americans support cuts to foreign aid. However, the idea of cutting all foreign aid brings on an instantaneous and seemingly mass hysteria with regards to Israel. If we dare to look past AIPAC and other lobbyist groups for answers which contain more rational ideas than the usual accusations of anti-semitism, unpatriotic betrayal, or abandonment of democratic friends, informative sources soon surface. In a report by John J. Mearsheimer and Stephen M. Walt of University of Chicago and Harvard University respectively, the “special relationship” between the US and Israel is explained more fully. Surprisingly, the military complex appears to play a weighty role here as well. A brief look at some benefits specific to Israel include: retaining 25% of aid dollars to subsidize its own defense industry instead of spending 100% to subsidize the US defense industry as other countries must do; not having to account for how aid dollars are spent; and being provided ” with nearly $3 billion to develop weapons systems like the Lavi aircraft that the Pentagon did not want or need.” There is a plethora of information in just this one report that evidences the detrimental effects of the “special relationship” American taxpayers purchase annually with their foreign aid dollars with what would appear to be little or no benefit to themselves. Interestingly, there is growing evidence of a substantive support in Israel itself for an end to US foreign aid which is seen by many there as “an affront against Israeli liberty and sovereignty, as well as a drain on the development of numerous sectors of the Israeli economy, such as the weapons and biotechnology industries.” Based on just the above facts it can be argued that perhaps it’s time for the American people to debate the prudence of an industrial complex deciding our military decisions, instead of a decisive military defending our national borders.

unlimited calling, voip, $14.95 per month

Having hurled their verbal slings and arrows of foreign policy insanity and foreign aid abandonment, most pundits proceed to trot out the next big issue to be refuted…individual liberties. Of course they don’t often mention those actual words, but delve deeply right to the perceived heart of the issue…heroin. Ron Paul wants to “legalize heroin” is touted gleefully to choruses of “and prostitution!” A round of smirks is the cue for visions of marauding bands of crazed, drug abusing prostitutes to begin dancing through the viewers’ heads and scare them out of ever considering Ron Paul as a viable candidate for anything, much less republican party nominee. A thinking person might wonder why the fascination and focus on heroin, other than for the shock value of course, whenever individual liberty is mentioned. “Protecting individual liberty,” Ron Paul often explains, “is the purpose of all government. Individual liberty is the right to your life, the right to your property and the right to keep the fruits of your labor.” With those two simple sentences and a clear constitutional understanding of what they actually mean in regards to federal government overreach, almost everything that the status quo fights to maintain is essentially negated. Is it any wonder the most inflammatory phrases are employed at every opportunity to derail the very idea?

No matter how much Washington, D.C. wishes to protect Americans from themselves, lift them out of poverty, provide for their well-being, or ensure their safety from dangerous products and enemies, it cannot do so without infringing on their individual liberties and violating the Constitution. The federal government we live with today no longer serves the interests of the American people, but serves the special interests of: corporate cronyism; militarism for profit influence and empire; centrally planned debt management, counterfeiting, fraud and currency debasement. Those who would maintain the status quo, despite its almost certain destructive end, are beginning to realize just how much they have underestimated the power of a quiet, consistent message of truth delivered to the people by a man of principle. A man who would be president not for the power he could wield over the people, but for the power he would give to the people by restoring their Republic. So war has been declared again, but this time the war is on liberty…and Ron Paul.

Secret Weather Weapons Can Kill Millions, Warns Top Russian Politician

In Human Rights, Military, World News on May 20, 2011 at 10:14 pm

Liberal Democratic Party of Russia

A top Duma political leader caused shock waves in a recent television interview when he warned that Russia could deploy an arsenal of new technology to “destroy any part of the planet” and kill over a hundred million people using secret weather weapons if the United States, the UN or Georgia tried to stop Russia’s entry into the WTO.

Vladimir Zhirinovsky is Vice-Chairman of the Russian State Duma and leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR), the first officially sanctioned opposition party after the fall of communism. The LDPR has deep links with the former KGB and Communist Party and has become a significant force in Russian politics, despite Zhirinovsky himself being branded as a militant neo-fascist.
According to a translation provided by a Russian speaker, during the interview Zhirinovsky went off on a bizarre tangent after he was asked how Russia should treat countries like Georgia and the United States who try and block Russia’s entry into the World Trade Organization.
Saying that the American government in Washington DC had “no future” and would “collapse,” Zhirinovsky cited Russia’s supremacy in space and stated that the country had, “Lots of money, resources, and new weapons that no one knows about.”
“With them we will destroy any part of the planet within 15 minutes,” he sensationally warned.
“Not an explosion, not a ray burst, not some kind of laser, not lightning, but a quiet and peaceful weapon,” added Zhirinovsky, warning that “whole continents will be put to sleep forever” and that “120 million will die” if anyone interfered with Russia’s claim on the Kuril Islands, which are the subject of a territorial dispute with Japan.
The female presenter of the news program smirked as he made the comments, but Zhirinovsky’s manner was far from jovial.
Zhirinovsky made reference to the recent tsunami in Japan, suggesting that the “new weapons” to which he refers are related to weather control technology, which has been intensely studied by both the U.S. and Russia since the 1950’s and is commonly used today.
Threatening to annex Georgia completely, Zhirinovsky warned, “And then there will be another tsunami, on the other side of the planet, in the Caucasus. Zhirinovsky’s reference to the Kuril Islands in connection with the devastating tsunami that hit Japan in March is a not so subtle suggestion that Russia had something to do with causing the natural disaster that killed thousands, led to the Fukushima crisis and threatened to derail Japan’s economic recovery.
Zhirinovsky also warned of a coming “third world war” emerging from the current turmoil in the Middle East and North Africa that would lead to the collapse of current global institutions like the EU and the WTO and the rise of a new international order led by Russia.
Moscow has routinely employed the weather control technology of “cloud seeding” for decades to ensure sunny skies when military parades are taking place on national holidays, but turning the weather into a devastating weapon to be used in warfare is a frightening new prospect.
However, as the revelations of weather modification expert Ben Livingston, a former Navy Physicist who briefed President Lyndon B. Johnson on the effectiveness of weather control back in the 1960’s during the Vietnam era, have documented, as far back as the early 1950’s the United States was funneling money into programs aimed at using the weather as a weapon during the cold war. It would be naive to think that the Russians weren’t engaged in similar research.
Moreover, in an April 1997 speech to the University of Georgia, Athens, then US Secretary of Defense William Cohen spoke of the threat of an “eco-type of terrorism whereby they can alter the climate, set off earthquakes, volcanoes remotely through the use of electromagnetic waves.”
For many years, suspicions have circulated around the purpose of the High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP), an ionospheric research program jointly funded by the US Air Force, the US Navy, the University of Alaska and DARPA. In his underground bestseller Angels Don’t Play This HAARP, author Nick Begich summarizes the evidence that suggests HAARP is involved in weather control for nefarious purposes.
Scientists at NASA have discovered “A close link between electrical disturbances on the edge of our atmosphere and impending quakes on the ground below,” which has led to claims that earthquakes are being artificially induced as a form of modern warfare by HAARP.

The technology to which Zhirinovsky refers is rapidly moving out of the realms of science fiction and into scientific fact as we progress further into the 21st century.
While Zhirinovsky is a controversial character in Russia with an incendiary personality, he is nonetheless a major political player. Although Zhirinovsky has been dismissed as a “clown” and has made many offbeat comments in the past, it would be naive to dismiss him as being on the fringe.
As well as being Vice-Chairman of the Russian State Duma and leader of the LDPR, Zhirinovsky is a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. The deputy Duma speaker has announced his intention to run in the 2012 Russian presidential elections, where he is expected to finish third in the race.
Zhirinovsky’s comments have been no less controversial in the past. He once advocated dropping nuclear bombs over the Atlantic Ocean to flood Great Britain.
What are we to make of these remarkable comments? Is Zhirinovsky just a crank, or has he truly spilled the beans on Russia’s intention to unleash an arsenal of new weather warfare technology in its bid to dominate the globe?

The Japanese Business Press reported on May 14 that a rice field more than 50 kilometers away from the
Fukushima nuclear plant has tested for high levels of deadly plutonium. A “certain food manufacturing company”
conducted the independent test that reported data different from data the Japanese government released,
according to a translation of the news article.

The corporate media outside of Japan did not mention the test or the increased radiation affecting the staple
crop. Since the start of the disaster, the corporate media has parroted statements from TEPCO and the Japanese
government in its coverage of the worst nuclear catastrophe since Chernobyl.

In addition, the corporate media has all but ignored extremely high levels of nuclear radioactive contamination
recently detected in Japan. “The latest joint US and Japan survey shows extremely high levels of nuclear
radioactive contamination, with radiation levels higher than Chernobyl evacuation limits, now span over 800
kilometers in Japan,” writes Alexander Higgins.

Reuters stated, “Now Pakistani rulers, President Zardari and the army will be our first targets. America will be our second target,” Ehsanullah Ehsan, a spokesman for Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), or Taliban Movement of Pakistan, told Reuters by telephone from an undisclosed location.” AFP reported similarly, “This was the first revenge for Osama’s martyrdom. Wait for bigger attacks in Pakistan and Afghanistan,” spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan told AFP by telephone from an undisclosed location.” Both Reuthers and AFP never bother explaining who Ehsanullah Ehsan is or verifying their source. Far be it from the corporate-owned media to actually “inform” its audience.
The Mystery Bombing
Ehsanullah Ehsan, the man who supposedly claimed responsibility for the bombings, had been a former Taliban official and had long since left the organization to pursue more constructive efforts for his country’s future. Wikipedia noted this, but was changed overnight, claiming Ehsanullah was now a Taliban spokesman and could potentially take a more “active leadership role.” This all based entirely on a BBC article citing the Reuters “phone-call.”
Wikipedia before May 13, 2011:
Mullah Ehsanullah Ehsan is a former member of the Taliban leadership.[1] Originally, he was the chairman of the Taliban’s Central Bank. Later, Ehsan was the Taliban’s Administrator of Captured Provinces.[2]
Shortly after the Taliban took over major Afghan institutions in December 1996, Ehsan, acting as chair of the Central Bank, declared most Afghani notes in circulation to be worthless and cancelled the contract with the Russian firm that had been printing the currency. Ehsan accused the firm of sending new shipments of Afghani notes to ousted president Burhanuddin Rabbani in northern Takhar province.
Ehsanullah’s name appears in the transcripts of several Guantanamo detainees.”
….
Wikipedia after May 13, 2011:
“Mullah Ehsanullah Ehsan is a current Taliban spokesman[1] and former member of the Taliban leadership.[2] Originally, he was the chairman of the Taliban’s Central Bank. Later, Ehsan was the Taliban’s Administrator of Captured Provinces.[3]
With the recent death of Osama Bin Laden, Ehsanullah Ehasan may once again take a more active leadership role in the Taliban.

….
Besides another tremendous torpedo to Wikipedia’s credibility, the poorly cited entry still doesn’t tell us who Ehsanullah is and where he came from. The only other “Ehsanullah” that can be found online is an Ehsanullah Ehsan who has spent his years after the fall of the Taliban in 2001 building schools and teaching. In a 2009 St. Peterburg Times article titled, “Taliban Gaining Unexpected Grounds in Afghanistan,” Ehsan is described as a “a government official in the Taliban Ministry of Foreign Affairs” who works tirelessly to bring communities together, bridge differences, and solve problems through carefully weighed, culturally sensitive pragmatism. The Toronto Star features an April 2011 piece written by an “Ehsanullah Ehsan” titled, “I can tell you that we are bleeding in our hearts,” in which the school teacher/principal laments that violence and hatred on both sides threaten to undo the work he and his people have done over the years to move his nation forward.
Perhaps Ehsanullah Ehsan is a common name. Perhaps all three are different men. Perhaps Reuters and AFP received a phone call from a nearby CIA station using an outdated Taliban Rolodex. When the media continuously and profoundly fails its duty to investigate, verify, and inform us, we are left to speculate, doubt, and ultimately question the legitimacy of such agencies. Land Destroyer for its part, is currently investigating this matter further.

f course, Khalizad’s veiled threat is referring to fellow globalist Frederick Kagan’s destabilization and “nuke-napping” plan already being set into motion. With the Baluchi insurgency being systematically cultivated by the US in Pakistan’s southwest region, and the Pashtuns being agitated by continued Predator drone attacks in the northwest, Pakistan is faced with the choice to either cut off the US now while it still can, or actively participate in the further destabilization of its own country by aiding and abetting Washington in their imperialist designs. This destabilization is specifically designed to implement the Balkanization of Pakistan and the ruination of Iranian, Pakistani, Indian, and Chinese interests throughout the region. If Kagan’s plans were put into effect, it would also give the US a permanent military footing in both Afghanistan and Pakistan.Conclusion
What must be realized by all involved, from Pakistan’s neighbors to the Baluchis and Pashtuns within Pakistan, is that any alliance with America is an alliance sure to be betrayed, sure to lead to a divided and weakened Pakistan that will be exploited in full by the global corporate-financier elite engineering American foreign policy. Consider those joining men like Khalizad on the CSIS and NED boards are Carlyle Group members, defense contractors including Raytheon and Boeing, banking interests represented by Merrill Lynch, Lehman Brothers, and Morgan Stanley, and big oil interests represented by Hess, Exxon, and Chevron. These are the same megalomaniacal, warmongering, parasites that have bankrupted the West, morally, culturally, financially, economically, and industrially. They have every intention to duplicate their “success” throughout Asia if given the proper environment of apathy, ignorance, and complicity within which to flourish.
Nations like India must realize that while their grievances with Pakistan may seem important, the US is not helping India out of a sense of charitable solidarity, but as a means to use Indian troops and resources against Pakistan, possibly even against China, thus miring all three nations in unending conflict and effectively hobbling their collective development. At the end of the day, there is no seat at the table for Chinese, Pakistani or Indian elite. They will be divided, discarded, and domineered just as soon as their usefulness reaches an end. As plans to divide and dominate Pakistan become public knowledge, and with plans to do likewise in Iran, China, and throughout the Middle East already matters of fact, India must reevaluate its relationship with Pakistan, as Pakistan must do so with India, understanding that their rivalry serves as the perfect “strategy of tension” from which the forces of globalization will conquer both nations.

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange says Facebook, Google, and Yahoo are actually tools for the U.S. intelligence community.

Speaking to Russian news site RT in an interview published yesterday, Assange was especially critical of the world’s top social network. He reportedly said that the information Facebook houses is a potential boon for the U.S. government if it tries to build up a dossier on users.

“Facebook in particular is the most appalling spying machine that has ever been invented,” Assange said in the interview, which was videotaped and published on the site. “Here we have the world’s most comprehensive database about people, their relationships, their names, their addresses, their locations and the communications with each other, their relatives, all sitting within the United States, all accessible to U.S. intelligence.”

If that’s the case, it might surprise some that WikiLeaks has its very own Facebook page. In fact, last year, when WikiLeaks released a controversial batch of confidential documents–putting Assange on the run–Facebook refused to shut down that page. The company said at the time that the page did not “violate our content standards nor have we encountered any material posted on the page that violates our policies.”

Facebook’s response stood in stark contrast to the treatment of WikiLeaks by many other companies in the U.S. last year. Several firms, including PayPal, blocked the company’s accounts.

But Assange didn’t just stop at Facebook. He also told RT that in addition to the world’s largest social network, Google and Yahoo “have built-in interfaces for U.S. intelligence.”

“It’s not a matter of serving a subpoena,” he told RT. “They have an interface that they have developed for U.S. intelligence to use.”

Surprisingly, Assange didn’t mention Twitter, another major social network with which his organization has run into trouble.

InterGuard - Free 7 Day Trial

Earlier this year, the U.S. Justice Department sent a court order to Twitter, requesting the social network deliver information from accounts of activists that allegedly had ties to WikiLeaks. In March, the Justice Department was granted access to those accounts following a judge’s ruling in favor of the seizure. Last month, the Justice Department said that complaints over its desire to obtain Twitter information is “absurd,” and its actions are quite common in criminal investigations.

However, the Justice Department didn’t secure a search warrant for access to the information. Instead, it obtained a 2703(d) order, allowing investigators to secure online records that are “relevant and material to an ongoing criminal investigation.”

For U.S. intelligence, getting information from Facebook is much easier, Assange said in the interview. He reportedly told RT that the U.S. intelligence community’s use of “legal and political pressure” on Facebook is enough for it get what it wants.

“Everyone should understand that when they add their friends to Facebook, they are doing free work for United States intelligence agencies in building this database for them,” Assange said, according to the RT interview.

For its part, Facebook disagrees with Assange’s sentiment. In a written statement to CNET, a Facebook spokesman said that it does only what’s legal–and nothing more.

“We don’t respond to pressure, we respond to compulsory legal process,” the spokesman told CNET. “There has never been a time we have been pressured to turn over data [and] we fight every time we believe the legal process is insufficient. The legal standards for compelling a company to turn over data are determined by the laws of the country, and we respect that standard.”
